Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, a society gains legal recognition, making it eligible for tax exemptions, government grants, and credibility in fundraising.

Why Register a Society?

Documents Required for Society Registration

For the Founding Members (Minimum 7 Members Required)

  • PAN Card (Mandatory)
  • Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / Passport / Driving License (Any one for identity proof)
  • Passport-sized Photographs
  • Address Proof (Latest Bank Statement, Electricity Bill, or Telephone Bill)

For the Society’s Registered Office

  • Rental Agreement / Property Ownership Document
  • NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the owner
  • Utility Bill (Electricity / Water Bill) – Not older than 2 months

Additional Documents

  • Memorandum of Association (MOA) – Outlining the society’s objectives and purpose.
  • Rules & Regulations of the Society – Governing structure, membership rules, and decision-making processes.
  • List of Founding Members with Signatures
  • Minutes of the First Meeting – Resolution passed for society formation.
